Useful data is more than a collection of files. It can capture the context, decisions and outcomes behind real work.
01
Operational knowledge
Documented processes, technical guides and quality checks that show how a business runs.
PROCESSES & SOPs02
Expert workflows
Project histories and reviewed work that connect a problem, a decision and its outcome.
DOMAIN EXPERTISE03
Business datasets
Structured operational, logistics, agricultural and commercial records with useful context.
STRUCTURED DATA04
AI evaluation & feedback
Expert assessments and task outcomes that help teams understand where AI succeeds or falls short.
HUMAN JUDGEMENT
Examples of potential data categories. Suitability depends on rights, sensitivity, quality and the intended use.
03 / FROM FIRST CONVERSATION TO COMMON GROUND
A clear path to a data partnership.
AGI’s role is to help both sides define the opportunity, understand the requirements and agree the commercial terms.
01 / DISCOVER
Start with the opportunity.
Owners outline the data they hold. Buyers describe what they need and why. Start with a high-level brief, without sharing the underlying data.
02 / QUALIFY
Work through the details.
Review relevance, provenance, rights and quality. Agree what a sample should contain, who may access it and how it should be handled.
03 / PARTNER
Put the agreement first.
Define permitted uses, access, payment and retention in a written licence. Data delivery follows the scope both parties approve.
04 / TRUST IS PART OF THE DEAL
Commercial value. Clear boundaries.
A useful partnership starts with understanding what can be shared, for what purpose, and under whose authority.
Permission before participation.
Ownership, third-party rights and internal approvals need to be established before a dataset moves forward.
A defined scope for every use.
Set the permitted purpose, recipient, access conditions and handling requirements as part of the agreement.
Sensitive information needs a plan.
Identify exclusions and any required redaction or de-identification before samples or datasets are shared.
No one-size-fits-all valuation.
Commercial terms depend on relevance, uniqueness, quality, rights and buyer demand. Every opportunity is assessed individually.
05 / A LITTLE MORE CONTEXT
Good questions. Straight answers.
Is AGI a data marketplace or a broker?
AGI is a brokerage connecting data owners and buyers. We help define a potential partnership and its commercial scope. This website is a starting point for that conversation, rather than an open catalogue of datasets.
Does our company have to be in Australia?
Our focus is data and expertise from Australian businesses. Buyer briefs can come from teams working in Australia or internationally; any cross-border access and handling would need to be agreed for the specific partnership.
Do we sell ownership of our data?
The proposed model is licensing: agreeing specific rights to use data. Ownership, exclusivity, duration and permitted uses are matters for the individual agreement.
What is our data worth?
There is no reliable price without reviewing the dataset and the opportunity. Relevance, quality, uniqueness, coverage and the rights available all influence commercial value. An initial brief is not a valuation or a promise of payment.
Do we need to upload data to get started?
No. Start by describing the category of data, its coverage and the intended opportunity. Our enquiry forms collect a high-level description and your business contact details so AGI can follow up. Do not send confidential records or personal datasets in your enquiry.
What should a buyer brief include?
Describe your intended use, the domain you need, preferred formats and coverage, and any provenance or quality requirements. A clear brief makes it easier to assess whether a potential source is a fit.
